Yarrow • Achillea millefolium – positive physiological effects
One of the most versatile herbs for women. Used for thousands of years in folk medicine to support hormonal balance, uterine health, relieve menstrual discomfort, and reduce inflammation. [01.]
Yarrow contains phytohormones – estrogen-like compounds – that gently support hormonal regulation, especially in cases of low estrogen or irregular cycles. It promotes ovulation and eases symptoms caused by hormonal fluctuations.
It has antispasmodic properties: reduces lower abdominal cramps and menstrual back pain. It helps regulate the cycle, whether menstruation is heavy, prolonged, or too light. Its anti-bleeding effect is useful in cases of heavy flow, spotting, or premenopausal cycle disturbances.
Yarrow also supports uterine muscle tone, making it beneficial for weak uterine muscles, recurrent miscarriage tendencies, and menstrual stagnation.
Lemon balm • Melissa officinalis – positive physiological effects
Lemon balm has beneficial effects on the nervous system, hormonal balance, and digestion of women. It works not only as a calming herb but is also excellent for hormonal and cycle-related issues, especially when stress or nervous overload is the underlying cause.
Lemon balm leaf is particularly helpful during premenstrual syndrome (PMS), when irritability, tension, and sleep disturbances may occur. It supports better sleep, which is especially useful during PMS.
By lowering cortisol, the stress hormone, it helps restore the progesterone–estrogen balance.
According to experience, it is especially effective in cases of PCOS, premenopausal symptoms, and stress-induced cycle disturbances. [02.]
Hibiscus•Hibiscus rosa-sinensis – positive physiological effects
Thanks to its anthocyanins, flavonoids, and fruit acids, hibiscus supports the cardiovascular system, hormonal balance, metabolism, and kidney and liver function. The kidneys and liver play a key role in detoxifying excess estrogen.
In cases of PCOS, PMS, and menopausal symptoms, hibiscus reduces bloating and water retention, stabilizes mood with its mild calming effect, and may help reduce blood pressure and hot flashes. [03.]
Calendula • Calendula officinalis – positive physiological effects
Calendula has anti-inflammatory, uterus-cleansing, wound-healing, and hormone-balancing properties. It is particularly effective for vaginal and pelvic inflammations.
It helps relieve symptoms of ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and bladder inflammations. Its antiseptic effect supports the complementary treatment of fungal or bacterial vaginal infections. [04.]
Lady's mantle • Alchemilla xanthochlora – positive physiological effects
Lady’s mantle contains flavonoids similar to progesterone, making it especially helpful in cases of progesterone deficiency. It supports ovulation and the function of the corpus luteum (luteal phase), enhancing fertility.
With its antispasmodic, anti-bleeding, and calming effects, it helps relieve painful menstruation, heavy bleeding, and irregular cycles.
In PMS, it reduces breast tenderness, irritability, and water retention. It strongly supports the restoration of regular menstruation. [05.]
Shepherd's purse • Capsella bursa-pastoris – positive physiological effects
Shepherd’s purse has an astringent effect, which helps reduce excessive or prolonged menstrual bleeding. It tones the uterine muscle and supports contractions without cramping.
It is particularly helpful around menopause, when irregular and heavy bleeding is common.
Folk medicine has used it for centuries to balance long or short cycles. Shepherd’s purse uniquely regulates bleeding tendency in the uterus—helping release excess blood but preventing excessive blood loss. [06.]
Rose petal • Rosa sp. – positive physiological effects
Rose gently calms and improves mood in cases of anxiety, inner tension, and emotional trauma. It opens the heart center, helping reconnect with self-love and emotional harmony.
Rose petal has uterine strengthening, anti-bleeding, and mild antispasmodic properties. It may be helpful as a complementary treatment for irregular, heavy, painful, or missed periods.
It is excellent for postpartum or post-miscarriage uterine recovery and emotional support.
