200 years ago, fate led the honeybee to New Zealand, where it first encountered the native manuka tree in the untouched wilderness.
For centuries, the Māori people knew and used the extraordinary healing power of the manuka tree. The tree itself was special, but when the paths of the bee and the manuka tree crossed, something magical was born. This “unexpected encounter” marked the beginning of a timeless dance, a symbiosis that gave birth to manuka honey.
This miraculous elixir is more than just honey. It is pure and powerful, captivating and mystical. Inevitable yet astonishing. It carries the energy of vitality, resilience, and well-being. [01.]
Manuka Health manuka honey is 100% sourced from New Zealand. It is scientifically proven to have a high natural methylglyoxal (MGO) content. It is sustainably harvested with great care to preserve its valuable properties.
The higher the honey’s MGO content, the more complex and severe conditions it is recommended for as part of therapy.

Positive physiological effects of manuka honey

Internally, manuka honey is highly beneficial for the digestive system. Pathogens multiplying in the stomach and gut can slow down digestion, causing unpleasant symptoms such as bloating, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, or cramps. In many cases, manuka honey can help alleviate these issues. [02.]
Manuka honey can eliminate harmful bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori, which is responsible for stomach ulcers and digestive problems.
Manuka honey varieties with MGO 500+ have been proven effective against MRSA as well.
Manuka honey also has a prebiotic effect, meaning it supports gut health. It serves as "nutrition" for beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains, promoting balance in the digestive system.
This prebiotic effect can be especially beneficial for individuals suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or other digestive issues.
In cases of acid reflux, it may help relieve heartburn and form a protective layer on the stomach and esophageal lining.
Manuka honey and wound healing
When mixed with air, manuka honey is hygroscopic—creating a moist environment. This enables it to disinfect wounds, promote new skin tissue formation, and prevent bandages from sticking to wounds. [03.]
It accelerates skin regeneration, reduces the risk of infection, and soothes inflammation. This makes it excellent for treating burns, cuts, ulcers, and acne.
Supports the body's natural defense system
This special honey naturally boosts the body's immune system. It is rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, and enzymes, which help the body fight harmful free radicals, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress.
Regular consumption can contribute to long-term health maintenance and help prevent many chronic diseases.
100% New Zealand Manuka Honey
Manuka Health proudly operates in New Zealand. Every jar of honey is tested and packaged in New Zealand.
Unlike many other companies dealing with manuka honey, Manuka Health owns the entire process—from hive to jar.
From 20,000 bee colonies and a highly skilled team of beekeepers to careful extraction, processing, quality testing, and packaging—everything takes place in-house.
Honey processing is carried out in our dedicated facility built specifically for this purpose. Our company also has its own research team.
MGO in manuka honey is an important therapeutic component that helps determine the antibacterial concentration of the honey. The higher the MGO level, the stronger the honey’s antibacterial power. This factor remains constant in the honey and is measured in mg / kg.
MGO is a registered trademark, and only honey tested in independent, New Zealand-recognized laboratories can carry this label, which acknowledges its medicinal properties. [04.]
Sustainable beekeeping

At Manuka Health, sustainability and environmental responsibility are at the heart of our operations. We are committed to producing premium-quality New Zealand beekeeping products in a sustainable manner.
This means we never compromise on the health of our bees and ensure that New Zealand’s untouched natural beauty is preserved for future generations.
Caring for our bees is of utmost importance, not just for us but for the entire ecosystem.
Our team of beekeepers leads the way in sustainable beekeeping and operates a year-round bee health program. Careful hive monitoring and strategic placement ensure healthy bee colonies and the highest quality honey—for the bees, for us, and for you!
We never overpopulate our hives—advanced mapping technology allows us to assess the amount of manuka flowers in a given area, ensuring we place just the right number of bee colonies so our bees can thrive.
During the "non-manuka" season, our bee colonies are widely distributed across New Zealand, where they have easy access to various blooming plants and contribute to natural pollination, enriching the land and plant life.
We never use antibiotics or hormones and, when necessary, only apply organic weed control to keep the areas around the bee colonies clean.
Our beekeepers are experts in bee health and proudly share their innovations with the broader beekeeping community, benefiting bees and beekeepers worldwide.
Storing manuka honey
All our honey is 100% natural, which means its color, texture, and flavor may vary slightly between batches and can develop over time, just like fine wine.
Manuka honey should be stored in a pantry, not in the fridge. Cold temperatures can cause honey to crystallize—but don’t worry, it’s still perfectly safe to consume.
To protect its natural properties, avoid prolonged exposure to high heat.
Pro tip: Ants love Manuka honey just as much as you do! To keep them away, place the jar in a shallow bowl of water—ants can’t swim!
